Joey the ChiPom

I’m sure Joey will get his own page on the website at some point but for now he gets the first spot on my favourites list. And his own Instagram account. Joey is not your typical feisty Chihuahua, he’s tiny and incredibly sweet. Named after a baby kangaroo, instead of hopping on two legs, he gets around on three. His fourth leg is there but due to a severe luxating patella, he channels his inner flamingo and it remains held up and bent. Joey is my first dog and I adore him. I believe that dogs are one of the greatest creatures, with their endless love and loyalty.

lululemon

I’ve been a loyal customer of lululemon since it first opened in Victoria, BC. It’s been nearly two decades, including three rounds of working in stores, and I still swear by this brand for outfitting me for all of my sweaty pursuits. My favourites include: Energy Bra, Swiftly Tank & Long-sleeve, Fast & Free tights and the Baller hat. The company puts on pretty great 10K races and the SeaWheeze Half Marathon.

Barry’s

Barry’s is my go to workout. You can say I’m obsessed, because I am. Not just with the combo of strength training and intervals on the treadmill but also with the feeling of belonging to a powerful and inspiring fitness community. I’ve become a regular at the Calgary studio since it opened in November and did many of their at home workouts while the studio was closed due to COVID-19.

Duchess Bakeshop

I love food, especially quality, delicious baked goods. I’m convinced that Duchess is the best bakeshop that exists but if you’d like to prove me wrong, I’ll happily take samples. I’ve been known to drive 6 hours return in one day just to visit them in Edmonton and stock up on macarons and other delicious desserts.

Glow M+D

Glow is my go to medi spa. The owner Jason and I were on a not-for-profit Board of Directors together and I’ve been a regular client for almost two years. Jason is a top-notch injectionist & trainer for those wanting to learn the art of injectables. His team are all highly qualified, professional and very fun! My face has received neuromodulator and dermal filler injections, plus Fractora and Lumecca treatments from Jason and his team, including trainees.

Sushi

Sushi is definitely one of my favourite foods. A typical order for me includes Salmon Avocado, California roll and a third roll which I tend to rotate between spicy tuna, tuna avocado and yam tempura. My favourite place in Calgary closed down but I have a new one with three locations, one close by to me: Haru Sushi. When in Vancouver, Samurai Sushi (pictured) on Davie is a must. The portions are huge and the prices are reasonable.
